December's beauty favourite

December's beauty favourite goes to Dr. Paw Paw Original Balm. I got it from one of my Birchboxes and am so happy to discover this multipurpose soothing balm. It is made in the UK and reminds me of one of my own hand made lip balms. As I don't have much time and run out of ingredients, this little tube was a savior in the last month. Dr. Paw Paw is made with fermented Pawpaw from the fruit of the Carica Papaya plant. It boasts natural healing qualities, giving this balm a multitude of hydrating uses. From moisturiser to lip balm and split end-sealer to sunburn-soother, it delivers an instant moisture boost wherever it is needed.

Ingredients: Petrolatum, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Carica Papaya Fruit Extract (Fermented Paw Paw), Potassium Sorbate

I love the texture, light scent of this balm and it is perfect for my lips and cuticle.

Have you tried Dr. Paw Paw Original Balm?

Skin and Hair care - Toddler/Boy

I am a happy mom of two boys: 6 and 2 years old and thought to share some of the toiletries they currently use. Skincare journeys vary from one to another. I had an easy ride with my firstborn, as the skincare routine was always and still is hassle-free. When he was a baby and then toddler he would have an organic/natural body/hair wash and a hand made oil mix with Lavender oil.

Now as a young boy, he is using Tisserand Rose and Geranium Leaf Body Wash. This body wash is made with a 100% natural fragrance created by pure essential oils, formulated with Aloe Vera and coconut oil extracts to leave skin soft and nourished. Tisserand Rose and Geranium Leaf body wash gently cleanses without stripping the skin, free from parabens, SLS, Cocamide DEA, and a Vegan-friendly product.

My older son's scalp tends to be dry in the winter, so he is using a sensitive hair wash. At the moment we have Childs Farm Organic Fig Shampoo. It has a delicious fig aroma my boy really loves and what is great this shampoo is made with naturally derived ingredients and organic fig extract to cleans and detangle all hair types. I love the resulting luscious locks, moisturised scalp, and gorgeous scent. I use natural coconut oil as a treatment prior to hair wash a night before and a drop of coconut oil as a conditioner and/or hair styler when needed.

Along with coconut oil for the body, he is using Cetraben Cream. We tried it first with my younger son, but his skin didn't like it so it kind of was passed on to be used. Not I believe this is our third bottle of the cream. It is fragrance, SLS and Paraben free has moisturising and protective formula which is perfect for this time of the year.

Now my 2-year-old skincare journey wasn't as straight forward, as he was diagnosed with eczema at 6 months. It was a severe case, eczema covered all his body and it took us several months to clear it completely off. I went through various natural creams and oils, tried some hand made recipes and he was slightly better with natural coconut oil and shea butter, but only slightly. Finally, I tried La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume AP+, it made all the difference needed, relieve and reprieve from the worry we had for so many months. Now more than a year later, we still using this cream once a day after the bath. His body skin is clear and soft only occasional flare-ups on his face. La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume AP+ is soothing and provides itch protection and skin hydration. The cream is enriched with Glycerine, Shea Butter, Niacinamide and La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water.

For body wash, he is using La Roche-Posay Lipika Syndet AP+. This body wash gently cleanses dry skin while avoiding damage to the skin barrier; immediately locks moisture into the skin and protects against the drying effects of water. My son's skin is soft and happy after the use, without any redness or itchiness. I use it to wash his hair too without any complaints.

What are your little ones using to keep their skin and hair soft? Have you ever struggled with skin conditions and what was your best solution?
